Koinoflow is open source under the MIT license and maintained by Visionect. Managed hosting is a commercial service; self-hosting has no fees.

What's included

The core product is identical across both. Managed hosting adds operational convenience and commercial support instead of changing the underlying product.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?
Yes. Koinoflow is open source under the MIT license. You can clone the repo, deploy it on your own infrastructure, and run it for your whole company at no charge. There are no feature-gated "open core" limits: the self-hosted edition is the product.
What does Visionect host for me?
Visionect runs Koinoflow as a managed service: the web app, the MCP server, the database, backups, monitoring, upgrades, and uptime. You get a dedicated workspace with a custom quota negotiated to your team size, and the same MCP config-paste integration as self-hosting. Great if you want the product without owning the ops.
How do I contact Visionect about hosting?
Email [email protected]. Tell us how many teams and roughly how much monthly skill usage you expect, and we will send a quote and timeline. Most customers go live within two weeks.
Can Visionect host a private instance with SSO and a dedicated region?
Managed hosting is the right place to scope private deployment, identity, region, and support requirements with Visionect. The open-source repo documents Google and GitHub OAuth today; if you need SAML, MFA, audit exports, or other enterprise controls, we will confirm what is available for your deployment before you commit.
How do I self-host?
Clone the repo at github.com/visionect/Koinoflow and follow the self-host guide in the README. A reference Docker Compose setup brings up the web app, MCP server, and Postgres in a few minutes. You can then point your AI clients at your own MCP endpoint.
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard used by AI clients like Claude, Cursor, and others to fetch context. Koinoflow uses it to deliver governed skills from one workspace. People and automated workers can receive different skill sets, so each agent only gets the approved instructions deployed to it.
Can I try it without installing anything?
Yes. Visionect runs a free public demo at app.koinoflow.com so you can kick the tires in your browser before deciding to self-host or move to managed hosting.
Who builds and maintains Koinoflow?
Koinoflow is developed and maintained by Visionect. Contributions from the community are welcome via GitHub pull requests, and the development roadmap, issues, and discussions all happen in the open.
Can I migrate from self-hosted to managed (or back) later?
Yes. Both editions are the same codebase and the same database schema. Visionect can import a dump from your self-hosted deployment, and you can export your workspace at any time if you want to move back to self-hosting. No lock-in.
